14 Jul Study Tour Russia: Palaces and fountains in St. Petersburg
Our 15 students from the Undergraduate Business Global Program of the UNC Kenan-Flagler Business School, who travelled to Helsinki, St. Petersburg and Tallinn, last month arrived back home safely, tired but most of all fulfilled! As Study Tours we arranged the program in St. Petersburg starting with Cultural Sunday on 21th of May; visiting the State Hermitage Museum, travelling via the Hydrofoil ferry to Petershoff and visiting the Grand Palace and Lower park with more than 140 fountains and canals, including the famous Grand Cascade. The group was guided by two Russian speaking programme managers who not only showed them around the beautiful city but were also there to help the group with all the communication barriers, answer questions, give travel advice and even: party with them during the boat trip. Educational tours should also be fun!
On Monday 22th of May in the morning the group was welcomed by ITMO, St. Petersburg’s State University) and in the afternoon they visited Yandex (a NASDAQ listed internet company).
Furthermore, they get the chance to taste the local cuisine for dinner at Spices & Joy and lunch at La Russ.
The many group pictures taken during this week showed that the students not only enjoyed the experience as individuals but most of all as a group together!
