31 May Study Tour Japan: The secret behind the success of Japanese firms
From the 10th until the 12th of May, in collaboration with Birlan Educational Journey, Study Tours organized the Study Tour programme for 35 Master students from the Indonesian business university Prasetiya Mulya. The group had travelled to Japan – a top leading nation in Asia where technology and culture blend in perfectly – to discover the secret of what makes Japanse firms and entrepreneurs so successful in bringing innovative products to global markets.
Their educational journey started on Monday morning at the Keio Business School with a very engaging lecture given by prof. Masahiro Okada, Professor of Strategic Management, on the topic “A New Trend of Corporate Strategies of Japanese Firms”. Followed by a compelling story on the ‘Internationalization Process of Honda Motors’ by Mr Toshikata Amino, former EVP of Honda of America, who has been responsible for the internationalization of the company’s operation across the world.
On Thursday the students learnt everything there is to know on Entrepreneurship from professor Kanetaka Maki, Waseda University and got the chance to meet a real entrepreneur; Mr. Ishikawa, CEO of GONZO. Mr. Ishikawa has taken positions at several governmental and industry organizations both in Japan and internationally, the perfect candidate to inspire our young ambitious students!
The next day the students visited the well-known company Canon, a Japanese multinational corporation specialized in the manufacture of imaging and optical products, including cameras, photocopiers and computer printers, where they received a tour.
And what the secret is of these Japanese firm becoming so successful in bringing innovative products to global markets?
We would be more than happy to organize this study tour for you again and find out!
